Low-Fat Diet May Prevent Liver Cancer
Liver cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer death. Roughly 30% of the cases are associated with obesity, type 2 diabetes and related metabolic diseases. Recent research showed that high-fat diets nearly guaranteed that susceptible mice would develop this cancer, but switching the same mice to low-fat diets halted and reversed the process. These findings indicate that low-fat diets may have the same preventative effects in humans.
