Are there any Allergens?

Monday, May 9, 2011 10:45:07 PM America/New_York

Q. Does the Ray & Terry's Supreme Chocolate contain any nuts or nut traces?

A. No. The cocoa is processed in a plant that is completely nut free so there is no way it ever has come in contact with any nut/peanuts, oils, etc.

Q. I have an allergy to certain kinds of soy. Do you think I would have a reaction to your Supreme Shakes?

A. Our shake mix has a lot of soy powder, and should be avoided by someone with an allergy to soy. We may create a non-soy version in the future, but have no immediate plans.

How does the flaxseed stay fresh?

Monday, May 9, 2011 10:43:14 PM America/New_York

Q. How do you ensure that the crushed flaxseed ingredient in Ray & Terry's Supreme Shakes stays fresh?

A. All ingredients have a shelf life (stability time). When formulating products, we only add those ingredients that will maintain shelf life and stability until expiration date as stated on label and the product is kept in cool dry place as instructed on the label. Ray & Terry's shake uses high-quality, beverage-grade flax seeds, which have a shelf life of three years from the date of manufacture. Even after grinding they will not oxidize.

Caffeine, sugar or sugar substitute?

Monday, May 9, 2011 10:42:09 PM America/New_York

Q. Does Ray & Terry's Supreme Chocolate contain caffeine?

A. The supreme chocolate contains a small amount of caffeine. One serving (2 scoops of mix) contains 2.74 mg of caffeine, compared to about 100 mg in a cup of coffee.

Q. Does the Supreme Chocolate contain any sugar or sugar-substitutes?

A. Ray & Terry's Supreme Shakes include stevia, a naturally sweet herb. They also include FOS(fructooligosaccharides), which when combined with stevia provides a sweet taste without bitterness. Both stevia and FOS are 100% natural. The cocoa in the chocolate shake contains no sugar or sugar substitutes. You can be sure that our shakes are completely sugar-free, and very low in net carbohydrates.

Dairy-free formulations?

Monday, May 9, 2011 10:40:38 PM America/New_York

Q. Do you have a formulation that is dairy-free?

A. We have tried to produce a dairy free version, but it would require using rice protein powder, which has too high of a glycemic index for Ray & Terry's Longevity Program. We tried using all soy powder, but the taste was not up to our standards, so we developed this blended formulation with whey protein.
